Feast of Corpus ChristiPosted on: June 7th 2021
Hi all and welcome back.
I hope you've had a lovely half term break.
Last Sunday, we celebrated the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of our Lord and we are honoured to have a school name dedicated to this beautiful feast day.
As such, all digital assemblies this week will reflect this feast day and this will be delivered by our students as a Corpus Christi Liturgy.
The Feast of Corpus Christi honours Jesus, truly and substantially presence in the Blessed Sacrament. This is why Mass is so important and is so precious to us. That what we receive in holy communion is not just a symbol of Jesus but is truly the Body and blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ himself.
Here is a video to explain more for Catholic Teachings on the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist (11mins):
O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament have left us a memorial of your Passion,
grant us, we pray, so to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood
that we may always experience in ourselves the fruits of your redemption.
Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen
Happy Feast Day of Corpus Christi!
