Lateral Flow Test
When your child is to administer the test?
Your child is to take the test every Wednesday and Sunday evening. However, your child is not to take any tests over the Easter Holidays. The first test should be administered on Sunday 11 April followed by Wednesday 14 April. Your child will then be provided with their next set of tests on Thursday 15 April.
If the test is positive
Book your child a confirmatory PCR test within 24 hours of the positive LFT test result. This can be done via https://gov.wales/getting-tested-coronavirus-covid-19. Try and visit a community or drive-through test site as this is the quickest way to get tested.
Your child plus household/extended household and any other identified close contacts must self-isolate until the result of the PCR test is received.
If the test is negative
Report the result by completing the government form www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
No further action will be required until the next test
Remain vigilant for symptoms of Covid-19. If your child begins to display any of the symptoms associated with Covid-19, immediately let the school know and book your child a PCR test.
If the test if void
Report the result by completing the Government form at www.gov.uk/report-covid19-result
Re-take the test
Record your child’s results again on the government website
If the result is void again, please take your child for a PCR test immediately. Guidance states that your child can return to school and will only need to self-isolate if the result is positive.
