RE: Lateral Flow Testing prior to returning to school
On Friday evening we received communication regarding advice on lateral flow testing for pupils returning to school. You will have heard about this in the media. We wanted to pass this information on to you as soon as possible and thank you for your ongoing support.
The guidance from the Welsh Government is that pupils and staff are advised to test twice in the lead up to their first day back.
The tests should be taken 2-3 days apart and as close to the first day back as possible and they recommend that on the morning of their first day back, would be best.
If you do not have any test kits at home, these can be ordered through the community collect, direct or pharmacy collect routes before the start of term. Further details provided below with relevant links:
· Test Sites and Community Collection Points
Lateral Flow test kits can be collected from local test sites, and some community
collection points Locations, opening times can be found here:
· Home Delivery
Kits can also be ordered online for home delivery. Details of how to order for
home delivery can be found here:
We are expecting that we will receive a further allocation of test kits in school that we will allocate to pupils upon their return.
In the same way as last term, please report your child’s results to the school and the NHS website. Please see link on our website – follow Students, Lateral Flow Tests.
We look forward to welcoming all our pupils back to school next week.
