Warm Weather

Posted on: July 11th 2022

Dear Parents/Carers

Further to our Parentmail sent last week, please see below further guidance on uniform etc. This is particularly important as tomorrow is Sports day and on Friday we have our Corpus Girls Can event. As you are aware, we always try to make balanced decisions to ensure that our young people are comfortable during this hot weather period. This guidance applies to this week commencing 11 July 2022.

We would like our pupils to remain presentable even though, it is of course, very warm. Therefore, for this week, pupils do not need to wear school jumpers. School PE kit may be worn instead of school uniform - this must be the proper school kit for both girls and boys. Appropriate sun hats and sunglasses can be worn whilst out in direct sunlight at lunch and break times but are not allowed to be worn during lessons or any time within the school buildings.

Pupils are encouraged to drink regularly and more frequently than normal. It is strongly advised that each pupil brings a full water bottle to school every day. These can be re-filled throughout the day at cold water station situated around the school. Pupils will not be permitted to refill water bottles during lesson times but instead should use the break and lunchtime periods for this task. Under no circumstances are pupils to pour water over themselves or anybody else. Pupils can purchase a water bottle using their Classcharts points. These are available from the Enquiries Office.

Pupils are encouraged to apply sun cream before they come to school. Please note that staff are not permitted to apply it. Pupils may bring sun cream into school to re-apply during the day but they must not share it with others.

The weather conditions will be monitored daily and further guidance may be given.
