GCSE Results 2017

24 August 2017 (by Mark Letman (admin))

GCSE Results Day

Once again this year, there were scenes of great joy as pupils collected their GCSE results. Everybody associated with the school is delighted with the outstanding grades achieved by the 2017 cohort. 80% of pupils achieved 5 A*-C (including English language and either Mathematics or Numeracy) and 91% gained 5A*-C. Nobody underestimates the effort that is necessary to achieve every one of these qualifications and heartfelt congratulations are sent to all of our pupils.

There were many exceptional performances with 46% of the girls in the year group gaining at least 5A*/A grades. 29% of the boys did likewise. Three pupils gained 11A* grades with a Distinction in Additional Maths. Five achieved 10 A* grades with one A grade and Distinctions in Additional Maths. Six more pupils posted 9 A* grades with 2 A grades, just one pupil achieved 8A* grades with 3 A grades, three others will have certificates showing 7A* grades with four As. That is quite some list!

As ‘retiring and outgoing’ Head on this lovely day, I must, on behalf of all the pupils who did so well, thank all their teachers, because we know that none of this would have happened without their incredible hard work and absolute dedication. Many thanks, also, to all the parents for your support.

Goodbye and good luck for September!
