YEAR 7

Year 7 pupils are taught within the following National Curriculum elements;

  • speaking and listening;
  • reading;
  • writing;
  • cross curricular themes;
  • common requirements, eg, Information Technology

In covering these elements your son/daughter will study three units of work in Year 7. The content of these units is varied and seeks to encourage your child to: read and enjoy a selection of literature; write in a variety of styles, and for a variety of purposes; and, to speak and listen with increasing confidence and enthusiasm.

In each of the units all pupils have to cover a core of activities prepared for each book or theme. The activities chosen within each unit are suited to the needs and abilities of the pupils.
